  • What is XLPE Cable?

    XLPE Cable is the most common Low Smoke Zero Halogen Cable(LSZH Cable). XLPE or Cross-linked polyethylene is a thermoset insulation material. Crosslinking polymers is a process that changes the molecular structure of the polymer chains so that they are more tightly bound together and this crosslinking is done either by chemical means.

  • What is FEP Cable?

    FEP stands for Fluorinated ethylene propylene. It is a type of fluoroplastic that is used as a cable outer to insulate and protect temperature sensor wire. FEP’s melting point is 260°C, but FEP temperature sensor cable operating temperature is limited to 200°C.

  • What is Ribbon Cable?

    A ribbon cable is a flat, thin cable composed of multiple small-grade cables placed parallel to each other. With each core situated side by side, they form a wide-flat cable resembling a piece of ribbon, hence its name. This type of cable is mostly used in electronic systems that require multiple data buses to link internal peripherals, such as disk drives to their respective drive controllers.

  • What is Shielded Cable?

    An electrical cable with one or more insulated conductors enclosed by a common conductive layer is defined as a shielded cable also called screened cable. The shield may be composed of braided strands of copper (or other metal, such as aluminum foil ), a non-braided spiral winding of copper tape, or a layer of conducting polymer. Usually, this shield is covered with a jacket.


  • What is Braided Cable ?

    A copper braided cable can be a coaxial cable or a shielded cable. They are typically made with four or five internal layers which include one or multi-winner copper conductors. A dielectric insulator layer coats the inner conductor, above which a second conductive layer made of Shielding combinations: Aluminum foil & braided copper covers the inner insulation layer. All of these are then encompassed with a thin insulating outer layer.


  • Why choose PVC insulation?

    Because of its outstanding coating properties but low corona resistance, PVC insulation is frequently used. These qualities make PVC the best suited insulating material for low voltage cables and medium voltage cables with low-frequency insulation requirements. From fixed wiring to flexible installations, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) insulated and sheathed cables are employed in a myriad of applications. With a number of available sizes, colors, and conductor materials, it is truly one of the most versatile insulation in the industry. Also, in circumstances where exposure to extremely high or low temperatures is inevitable, PVC’s properties make it a suitable material for such applications as it provides protection against degradation.


  • What's the difference between different conductor materials?

    · Silver:   Silver offers slightly lower resistance than copper and better sound quality, but it oxidizes very slowly. It is also considerably more expensive than copper. This means that a thicker copper wire will actually still be cheaper to buy. Another disadvantage of silver is that, it is very fragile, the silver wire easily breaks, because the pure silver wire is too soft to twist.

    · Silver Plated Copper: Silver plated Copper comes at a much more reasonable price, there are several advantages for it. First, it is easier to twist as OFC. Second, the silver layer will protect the copper from oxidization. Third, the signal is always on the surface which means the silver-plated copper will have better sound quality.

    · Oxygen-free Copper (OFC):   Copper is the most commonly used material for speaker wire. Its cost is reasonable and it has a good level of conductivity, i.e. it provides a low level of resistance in the wire. However, copper does oxidize - the surface can become coated with a thin layer of copper oxide that cannot resist oxidization. The oxidized copper will cause huge electrical resistance of the cable which can become an issue for sound quality.

    · Tinned Copper: Tinned Copper conductor is very common for general hook up wire. However, Tin does oxidize - the surface can become coated with a thin layer of tin oxide which can protect the copper from corrosion and from continued been oxidization. This in turn can prolong the cable’s service life.


  • What is Silicone Wire?

    Silicone wire and cable is an excellent choice for high temperature, high voltage, and applications requiring extremely flexible wire or cable. Silicone is used in implantable and medical grade wire and cable applications. 


  • What is PVC Cable?

    PVC cables use PVC as insulation, which is an abbreviation of Polyvinyl Chloride a thermoplastic material, which is a widely used wire. The pervasive use of PVC for wire insulation and cable jacketing is mainly attributed to the fact that it possesses an ideal combination of characteristics that is suitable for its application. PVC wires and cables are durable, UV resistant, and exhibit good resistance to chemicals and water.


  • What is TPE Wire?

    Thermoplastic Elastomer, also referred to as TPE, is sometimes considered Thermoplastic Rubber, or TPR. It is widely used as an insulating material for wires and cables. The biggest advantage of TPE Wire is that it does not emit a malodorous smell.


  • What is XLPVC Cable?

    XLPVC or Cross-linked Polyvinyl Chloride is a thermoset insulation material. The molecular structure of the polymer chains changes when crosslinking polymers. It also transfers PVC thermoplastic insulation to thermoset insulation. And the XLPVC cable performance of anti-aging and heat resistance is greatly improved.

  • What is Control Cable?

    A wire that has a gauge of around 34AWg up to 28AWG and with a 30 volts voltage rating, is called a thin wire. It is a very small hoop wire and is often seen used in highly sophisticated machinery, like mobile phones. XLPE or XLPVC is usually the material used for its insulation because it is very convenient to process. The use of these materials also guarantees a longer shelf life for the wire.


  • What is Rainbow Cable?

    A rainbow cable is a type of ribbon cable. The primary difference between the two is that rainbow cables are color-coded while this is not necessarily the case for ribbon cables.


  • Why choose XLPE (LSZH) insulation?

    XLPE is the most common Low Smoke Zero Halogen Material (LSZH). XLPE stands for Cross-Linked Polyethylene and is derived from Polyethylene or (PE). Polyethylene (PE) material itself has limited in its temperature range. However, cross-linking the PE to become XLPE greatly improves the temperature range of the insulation whilst maintaining the electrical properties.

    Most of the casualties from fire incidents are not actually directly caused by the fire itself. It is often caused by the inhalation of noxious gases produced by the burning of some materials. It is in these highly critical situations where Low Smoke Zero Halogen or LSZH cables come in handy. In fact, the subsequent development of LSZH cable was in direct response to such unfortunate incidents. Because it’s purpose and development is highly specified, its performance for its intended purpose is simply outstanding. LSZH cable, as its name implies, generates a minute amount of smoke when exposed to fire. Also, it emits zero halogenated gases. It is these characteristics that make LSZH cable very valuable, as it helps maintain visibility in case of fire. This in turn allows people to escape the burning building with very low risk of toxic smoke inhalation. 


  • Why choose Silicone insulation?

    Due to it’s operating temperature range ( -60℃~+200℃ ), extreme flexibility, voltage properties, silicone insulated wire and cables are a popular choice for a variety of industries. By adding glass fiber braid and silicone varnish, mechanical toughness and cut-through resistance of silicone can be greatly improved. And because of The mineral nature of silicone rubber insulation, this makes the silicone cables uniquely suitable for fire resistant cables required to maintain circuit integrity in the event of a fire. Good oil and solvent resistance, and good corona, and ozone and weathering resistance, are also one of the many reasons why people choose silicone wires.


  • How to choose a conductor for the best speaker wire?

    According to our test, a 0.2mm or bigger copper conductor will give you a better sound quality compared to 0.16mm or thinner copper. But copper with 0.25mm or bigger may cause the cable to be very rigid and inflexible, so a 0.2mm OFC will be the best choice. There are other tests as well, copper with better purity can reduce the speed of oxidization. According to the OFC standard, there are 3 levels, 99.99%, 99.97%, 99.95% with a slight variation in pricing. Given both information, we recommend choosing a 0.2mm OFC with 99.99% purity as it will bring you the best result.
