The insulating material for silicone rubber wires is mainly high-performance silicone rubber, the structure of which is characterized by a main chain consisting of alternating silicon and oxygen atoms, with two organic groups of rubber on the silicon atom. Ordinary silicone rubber is mainly composed of methyl and a small amount of vinyl siloxane linkage, while high and low temperature resistance, oil resistance and other performance improvements are mainly caused by the introduction of phenyl and trifluoropropyl and cyano. Ordinary silicone rubber low temperature resistance can reach -55 ℃, after the introduction of phenyl up to -73 ℃, high temperature resistance can be as high as 200 ℃. The permeability of silicone rubber is good, and the oxygen transmission rate is the highest among synthetic polymers. In addition, silicone rubber is extremely physiologically inert and therefore has no outstanding properties, this is one of the main reasons for its wide application in the medical field.
Silicone rubber, the material of silicone rubber wire, is mainly divided into hot vulcanized (i.e., high temperature vulcanized silicone) type and room temperature vulcanized (RTV) type, and the hot vulcanization type is divided into two subcategories: polycondensation reaction type and addition reaction type. High-temperature silicone rubber is mainly used to manufacture a variety of silicone rubber products, and room temperature silicone rubber is mainly used as an adhesive, potting material or mold. Hot vulcanized types are the most used, it is divided into methyl silicone rubber (MQ), methyl vinyl silicone rubber (VMQ, maximum quantity used and product brand), methyl vinyl phenyl silicone rubber PVMQ (low temperature resistance, radiation resistance), and others include silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber, etc.
